Business Retention & Expansion (BR + E) Survey

Monday, June 3, 2019 - 3:15pm to Tuesday, October 1, 2019 - 11:00pm

The Municipal District of Greenview, along with Community Futures West Yellowhead, have partnered to officially launch a new Business Retention & Expansion (BR + E) survey for the Hamlet of Grande Cache.  Both parties want to better understand the future plans and needs of local Grande Cache businesses and how business owners/managers view the community as a place to do business. The information from the survey will be used to plan future economic development activities focused on the top priorities of local businesses.

MDB Insight, an economic development consulting firm, has been hired to assist with the project. MDB Insight will be working with the project team to review the completed surveys for challenges and opportunities that the local business community is facing. Businesses are encouraged to participate in the telephone survey and since selection is random, they may be contacted between May and July 2019. The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.

Economic Development Manager, Kevin Keller, with the MD of Greenview says that “Greenview is committed to supporting local businesses and growing our economic development initiatives.  Since acquiring the Hamlet of Grande Cache, we want to gather baseline information to help establish the business’s priorities in the community to help guide our future planning.”

The project launched in May 2019 and is scheduled to last until July when all the results of the survey are gathered and analyzed.

Psychological Health and Safety Workshop

Tuesday, August 27, 2019 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

Last week, half a million Canadians missed work because of a mental health problem or illness. Mental health problems and mental illnesses account for approximately 30% of short- and long-term disability claims, and they are rated one of the top causes of disability claims by over 80% of Canadian employers.

Our day-long workshop is geared to businesses both for and not-for-profit. We will go over the legal requirements around psychological health and safety and come up with a system that works for the company and the workers.
