Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program

Entrepreneurs With Disabilities Program

This program is designed to make it easier for entrepreneurs with disabilities to pursue their business goals and contribute to economic growth within their rural community.

To qualify for the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities program you must:

  • Live in the Community Futures Westyellowhead Region
  • Self-declare a disability or ongoing medical condition
  • Have a viable business idea
  • Have a disability that impairs your ability to perform at least one of the basic activities of self-employment or entrepreneurship

The program offers:

  • Assistance in developing a business plan
  • Business training
  • Mentoring
  • Business loans up to $150,000, the terms of which are specifically tailored to address each individual entrepreneur's needs and are repayable at competitive rates

Loans can be used for:

  • Starting or expanding a business
  • Applying new technology to your business
  • Upgrading facilities and equipment
  • Developing marketing and promotions material
  • Establishing working capital for anticipated sales increases

Success as an entrepreneur is all about playing to your strengths. Clients of the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities program all live with physical or mental conditions which reduce their abilities in some areas, but they make a conscious decision to focus on what they can do, rather than what they can't. If you can combine vision and creativity with hard work and perseverance, our program could be right for you too. We're here to help with business counselors, one on one mentoring and business loans. We offer support, encouragement and advice all along the way.

Play to your strengths.

It's what you can do that counts.
