2008 - 2009 CAP Proposals
McLeod/ Athabasca River Trips sponsored by Woodlands County. The proposal focused on identifying and developing a tourism product and inventory of one- or two-day river trips to attract and market to outdoor sports enthusiasts for both summer and winter months.
Mental Health Awareness sponsored by Bridges. This proposal focused on supporting those with mental health needs through identification and creating awareness of available resources in the community of Hinton; including an educational printed brochure, an updated web page, and an organized interagency group.
Literacy Works sponsored by Jasper Adult Literacy Service. The proposal was for a Social Marketing Initiative and literacy tool kit to raise awareness of how critical literacy is to the economic welfare of Albertans.
Grande Cache Labyrinth Project Marketing and Promotional Strategy sponsored by Community Outreach Program Enhancement. The proposal focused on developing a cohesive marketing and promotional strategy for the Labyrinth as a tourism feature within the Town of Grande Cache.
Setting up Systems for Resident Investment in the Community of Jasper sponsored by the Jasper Community Team Society. This proposal focused on the development of a marketing package outlining both the benefits of as well as the how to do’s of investing in the community of Jasper; including an informational package, and the development of templates.
2010 - 2011 CAP Proposals
Child & Youth Community Needs Assessment for Edson & District sponsored by Boys & Girls Club of Edson & District. The proposal identified gaps within services and made recommendations for areas of potential improvement and growth for youth-based community services in Edson & District for kids aged 5 - 15.
Needs Assessment for the Hinton Adult Learning Program sponsored by Hinton Adult Learning Society (HALS). The proposal focused on developing assessment tools and a focus group session to further explore the learning needs of the community and how best to address those needs.
Developing a Vision for the Briar Patch Building & Attached Lands sponsored by Woodlands County. The proposal developed a process and used feedback from community members to provide recommendations to the County on the development of the property in order to maximize economic and social benefit for the hamlet of Blue Ridge.
Social Asset Mapping for a Regional Resource Directory sponsored by Creative Campus. The proposal used research and consultation with persons in the region to develop a template for a Regional Resource Directory of instructors, artists, and experts of various types living and working in the West Yellowhead region.
2011- 2012 CAP Proposals
Arts Center for Edson Society (ACES) proposal completed three sections of a business plan (growing population in the region, facility operational costs, facility revenues).
Bridges Society proposal included recommendations to increase awareness of the homeless issue in the Hinton community using questionnaires targeted to targeted groups.
Community Futures West Yellowhead proposal focused on best practices from existing sustainability plans to develop policies focuses on the environmental needs of the Hinton office.
Friends of Jasper National Park proposal examined current promotional materials, brand, logo and outlined the next steps for improvement of a communications plan.
Hinton Food Bank Society proposal conducted research of best practices and interviews of current clients to reduce the dependency of clients on food banks.
HIV West Yellowhead’s project proposal focused on developing a volunteer interview process, incorporated materials and an evaluation process.
