Community Action Projects
Leadership West Yellowhead
Community Action Projects are an integral part of the Leadership West Yellowhead 2.0 program curriculum and provide participants with the opportunity to practice personal leadership skills, while achieving a tangible outcome for a community organization. Sponsoring organizations will benefit from the efforts of motivated and engaged teams of emerging leaders who want to make a difference in the region. Program participants, divided into teams of 4-5 persons, offer a diversity of backgrounds, skills, and community interests who come together to work on the Community Action Projects during the time in the program.
Non-profits in the West Yellowhead region will have an opportunity to apply to be accepted by the Leadership West Yellowhead program at the start of the program year. Priorities of the Request for Proposals will focus on economic pandemic recovery in the West Yellowhead region. Community Action Projects preference will be given to projects that focus on the Government of Canada and PrairiesCan priorities as follows:
- Inclusiveness with a focus on one or a selection of the following demographic groups:
- Women
- Youth (15 to 29)
- Indigenous Peoples
- Persons with Disabilities
- Cluster Growth with a focus on one or a selection of the following industries:
- Clean Technology
- Clean Resources
- Life Sciences
- Value-Added Agriculture
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Digital Technology
Projects can be applied to multiple priorities.
